New Members

If you are a new member to the Synthetic Empire Discord community and wish to join in on the Official Imperial RP™, you will need to first read the rules posted in the #rules channel in the Discord server. There you will find the pass phrase you will need in order to create an account on this wiki.

1. The owner of this Discord community lives in the USofA. She DOES NOT want to get on the nasty end of a child sex offense lawsuit. Not to mention all the other members of this server.
2. No, the law DOES NOT care about your consent to be exposed to this stuff. If you are NOT 18, you are NOT AN ADULT.
3. No, we will NOT make an exception for you. ANY minors that seek to gain access to this community will be endangering EVERYONE in the community.
4. If this confuses you and you wish to understand why, you may contact dragon-architect on FurAffinity or @dragonarchitect on Twitter. She is willing to explain why in greater detail.

Editors

This wiki has two types of editors when creating articles:

- The raw tiki markup editor, which you can use tiki markup in
- And the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, which has a bit more of a rich text feel to it

They can be toggled using the little pencil icon in the top-right corner of the raw editor and at the right end of the WYSIWYG editor:

Community Rules

Because it helps to have these posted in multiple places.

1. Don’t be a jerk. We all have off-days (yes, even the admins), but if you are consistently a donk to other members of the community, you may be warned, put in the #dungeon to chill out, or booted from the server entirely.
2. But still be you. Our community thrives on the diversity of personalities that we have in our server. People who are true to themselves and to others blossom in tremendous ways. :3
3. LGBT+-phobia WILL NOT be tolerated. More than half of our community’s members are LGBT+, and our leader is trans+grey-ace, herself. Tolerance and respect both are two-way streets. You cannot expect or demand either, if you will not give both, yourself. However…
4. Curiosity is ENCOURAGED! There is no such thing as a stupid question. Only stupid answers. (Which you may receive in jest. Some of us are jokesters.) If you are questioning about anything, we will do our best to help you learn and grow as a person. Odds are good someone here has an answer, or enough ranks in Google-Fu to help you find answers.
5. MOST KINKS ACCEPTED HERE. The only exceptions include zoophilia, pedophilia, and necrophilia. For everything else, there’s MasterCard™.

Special Interest Channels

There’s a few special access-by-request channels specifically for kinks and content that tend to squick folks who aren’t into them, so there’s safe spaces for members who dig that stuff:

If you want access to these channels, either poke me or an Imperial Guard in my server, or PM us discreetly, and we will apply the relevant roles.

There are also some open-access special interest channels that are for specific, albeit broad, categories of special interest beyond whatever general stuff might come up in the general chat channels:

RP Rules

Most of these rules should be pretty self-explanatory, but due to some past usurpation of the previous attempt at a canonical RP, it’s kind of necessary to spell this out explicitly.

1. Newcomers can’t just jump right in. Take some time to introduce yourself, observe the main RP, and discuss about how your character could fit in in the #character-conversation channel; you will be granted permission to post in the RP channels soon enough.
2. Godly/divine characters are permitted. Give your godly characters some weakness or flaw or limitation to their godliness. Don’t make them omnipotent, omniscient, omni-whatever, all the bells and whistles that the Davidic God/Yaweh/Allah seems to have. A good godly character is one that is absurdly godly in one aspect, the aspect which they represent or embody, but pretty dang limited (even “mortal”-ly so) in all others.
3. Same goes for characters with absurd powers or abilities. HOWEVER…
4. Metagaming, munchkining, bunnying, puppeteering, co-opting, etc. are NOT permitted without EXPLICIT permission from the other players whose characters your actions/narration affect or control. Keep your posts open for other player characters to be able to react on their own, unless you have explicit permission otherwise to control someone else’s character.
5. Godmodding is to be done SPARINGLY. Godly/powerful characters are permitted, but please don’t abuse them without approval to do so, like for an arc or plotline that you’re exploring with everyone, and you need a powerful baddie to be the jerk of the season and not just another monster of the day.
6. Keep RP-adjacent chatter to the relevant side channels: #worldbuilding, #character-conversation, and #out-of-context. This keeps the actual RP channels clean of chatter that interrupts the flow of posts.
7. Listen to the Imperial Guard, Empress Calyo. We’re the moderators. If we tell you to tone it down or knock it off, please do so. We don’t like to lay down the law; we like to be permissive. So if we have to lay down the law, you’re doing something that you need to quit it when we say so.

Character Profiles

1. Character profiles are encouraged, but not mandatory. It is recommended to have at least ONE character with an established profile on this wiki that other members of the server can search up. Make it as detailed as you desire, but at least have a name and description of the character. Creating a profile for your main shortcuts the introduction process! You don’t need it, but it helps!
2. Temporary or cameo characters don’t need a wiki profile. It’s just more effort than is necessary for a one-shot, ya’know?
3. Use of the PluralKit bot for registering abbreviated character profiles and for roleplaying AS your characters is OPTIONAL. PluralKit exists both to serve any plurals who join the community, and for those who want to use PluralKit to augment their roleplaying.

These RP rules fly out the window in #non-sequitur-rp and #broken-plothole-device as they are non-canonical RP channels, unless there is an established RP ongoing that has its own rules in either channel. Feel free to RP whatever, whenever, with whomever, in those channels. Bunny it up with your ultra mega powerful immortal omniscient omnipotent pony-elf-kin for all I care, so long as the folks you’re playing with are having fun with it, too. :v
